In this article we see how the Wright Brothers took a dream and
archived it overcoming the lack of education, money, time and
marketing.  Other obstacles that they had to overcome were finding
out that the current experts were wrong on ways to control aircraft in
flight.

The Wright brothers took up attempting to fly as a hobby.  They
studied all the available material and then designed small gliders to
test their theories.  This started out as a game for them to do over
the winter months while the bicycle business was slow.  When they
were ready to build a full sized model, then needed a place that had
a steady wind and a soft sandy area to land in.  California and Florida
were suggested but the decided to go the Kitty Hawk, North Carolina
because it was closer to their home in Dayton.
They could only do their test flying in the fall when the bicycle
business was slow and the weather was favorable.  Once they had
their first successful non powered flight they saw a great potential in
this flying machine.  That is when they really started focusing on the
flying machine.  Their first problem was money.  They had to
maintain the bicycle shop when they were not flying. When they made
the machine larger they found out that the tables that they were
using for their calculations were wrong, even though these tables were
produced by experts in the filed.  They overcame this problem by
building a wind tunnel and developing their own tables for the
structure of the wing. The next problem they had was control of the
machine in flight.  While talking to a customer in the bicycle shop he
started twisting a piece of cardboard.  That was the answer to
controlling the flight.  They called it wing warping.  Now that they had
been able to make bigger aircraft they added a motor.  The first didn’
t work but the second one that made was powerful and light enough.
Now they had a machine that worked and was no longer
experimental.

Now that they had a product they had to switch gears and go into the
marketing mode while still enhancing their machine.  They
approached the U.S. several times with no luck.  They then talked to
the English, French and the Germans.  Eventually the U.S. became a
customer.

How many times have you started on a task and had to overcome
unforeseen obstacles.  When working on a project how many of the
obstacles of the Wright brothers did you have to overcome.  How
many times did you have to get off track for a period of time
because you needed to get something done?

A coach will work with you as a sounding board to develop solutions to
your obstacles.  Your coach will help you stay on track and when you
have to go away for a while they will remind you to get back on track
and not to get completely derailed.
